Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Therese, we didn't do what we did for gratitude, but we do appreciate it. Make no apologies for those who, for whatever reason, do not share your feelings. Such folk are either tied up in their own problems (for which I do not fault them) or have no understanding of the need for citizen-soldiers who are willing to sacrifice their personal liberties, much of their individuality, and possibly their lives in the service of something greater than themselves. These last I would feel sorry for were many not so vitriolic in their criticisms.

Dear Decurion,

Yes, I think this upcoming Veterans Day is important.

My brother was a Marine during the Viet Nam war, he came home to some pretty bad times. We later talked of his time in the war, etc.

Veterans deserve our respect and consideration all year.

God Bless,

T

Therese, I third or fourth your post! We are a 4th generation military family, but this weekend I am thinking of my dad this weekend who gave 25 years of service to the Army and another 15 to the Defense Dept in the Pentagon. Mom and I will go and visit his grave tomorrow and place some flowers. I am grateful for those who stepped up to the plate whenever they were called upon over the years for our the defense of the country. My brother also served in the Special Forces and his son now in there as well, and I have another nephew headed to the Marines ( don't know what happened to him...should be Army as well, but hey, I am proud... whatever).

Great post, glad you put it on here. Keeping our troops and families in my prayers, especially after that horrific murder by that nut in Texas. Terrible, just terrible.

Just cant say thank you enough. One of my best friend's wife just shipped out for Iraq; he got back about a year ago and is know taken up where she left off by caring for the three little ones. God bless and thank you from me and my family. Wonderful song in tribute.

The Marines (Happy 234th Birthday today) have a saying -Semper Fidelis which is Latin for ‘Always Faithful’. This applies to both the other branches and the people that support the military.

Having been lucky enough to miss the conflicts in the middle east but having served on a ship and in Asia, it would have been more difficult without those letters and the support from people back home.

So thank you Therese for your support.
